The stake primary leaders in my stake have asked me to teach the song, Teach Me About The Temple to the Senior Primary children in my ward in preparation for November's Stake Conference. All the Senior Primary children in the stake will sing it together in a Stake Children's Choir, but I am going to teach it to the Junior Primary children in my ward as well.

My ward's Children's Sacrament Meeting Presentation is on October 24th this year, and Stake Conference is November 21st....this is so interesting, I know...so my plan is to teach Teach Me About The Temple for the first three weeks of September, then review all the Presentation songs every week until the Presentation in late October. Then we will focus on Teach Me About The Temple for November, and of course....a lot of fun mixed in along the way! Clear as mud? Righto!

I'll be going over the words and phrases and their meaning as we learn the song, page by page. There will be lots of echoing, which helps immensely with memorization!

Our stake did the same thing last spring, asking all the senior primaries to learn it for stake conference. However, I guess we were the only ward that did it. Fast forward to now and I'm the new song leader and was handed this song. Our kids LOVE it, seriously, I think we sing it every week, or at least every week someone gets to choose a song. Anyway, I've been asked by several people where we got the song, if they can have a copy, etc. Since I was just handed the copy, I know nothing about it. Is it something I can copy for others or is there a place to download a copy or anything?

...and...our kids still love to sing this. I was handed a copy from our stake leaders, too, and lots of people wanted a copy from me, too.
ReplyDeleteSomeone told me that this song was first sung by primary children at the dedication of the temple in Draper....I can't remember, is that Mt. Oquer...(sp?). I hope it gets printed in The Friend!
