Follow the Prophet

I have known for a long time if I ever had the opportunity to teach this song that I would use my mom's idea. So I asked her to send me pictures of her posters, and then I made my own, with a few slight changes. And I used foam board instead of poster. A big Thank You to my friend Dawn for helping me add vinyl lettering.

This last poster is for the new verse found in the March 2010 issue of The Friend magazine.

Here's what my mom made several years ago:

  1. Love these posters! Are they the regular large poster board size? I will be busy this week working on these. Thanks for posting the idea.

  3. Gary and Debi---yes, they are regular poster sized foam board. I bought them at Walmart. Kinda spendy at $2.74 per board, but my presidency was kind enough and approved it. I let them know I would be happy to pick up some of the cost if needed, but they have budgeted an allowance for me, and it all worked out fine. Glad you liked them!

I live in Northern Brazil, in a state called Roraima. It's in Brazil Manaus Mission area. Far from where your son is now. I know part of the area where he is serving. I was in São Paulo last January and I'll probably be back by November. What's your son's missionary name? Maybe I have friends where he's been serving.
Oh, by the way, I've been to Idaho falls in Nov 2008. We drove from SLC to visit the Templo there. There's also a missionary from Idaho in my branch. His name is Elder Prestwich and he's a zone leader.

  7. I feel a little dense asking this, but do you have kids come up and hold them to their faces or do you hold them up to yours? Do you have them come up all at once or do you have one kid that switches it up? Great idea!

  8. Hi Hilary,

Great question. I had the kids come up, all at once, and hold THIER faces in the posters. I told them my only requirement was that they MUST move around and be animated while showing their faces. Having one child switch it up would be fun too. Wish I'd thought of that! Might be a useful reward.

    Have fun!

  9. I love these! I have recreated them and used them many times. Have you by chance ever thought of making some for some of the verses of Book of Mormon Stories?? I want you but lack the artistic ability. (To recreate yours I used an opaque projector and traced) If you haven't made any would you by chance be willing to draw small pictures for me that I could blow up?????? Is that asking too much?

  10. I am not artistic at all. Do you have a link or way to get copies of what you have so wonderfully created?

  11. I love your creative posters! They will be an asset for the upcoming Primary Program. I too am not an artistic person. Could you post smaller pictures so I can blow them up.
    Thank you,
    Diana
